One of my favorite things about Star Wars: The Old Republic is the entire single player story-line  For every base class there is an entire story designed for the specifically for the class they chose.

As I have only played through one and parts of others I don’t have a full perspective on all of them, though I will have follow up articles on each story as I play through them. For now, however I shall speak in terms of the larger topic of the strong single player aspect in SWTOR.

As a person that finds “professional players” completely reprehensible. It is rather nice to have the option to not play with other people. Having much experience playing World of Warcraft I can safely say that when playing in a group as a new player hearing some jerk yell out obscenities because I haven’t done that particular quest before or because I wasn’t as fast enough with the right ability at the right time makes me not want to play that game anymore.

With the single player missions in SWTOR there is a chance to completely circumvent the jerks in a multiplayer encounter. I can definitely say that it makes me want to play more.

As I said I will go more into the individual stories as I play through them, but as for the umbrella topic of the stories as a whole the writing is great, as with all Bioware games. As an idol of mine once said “Birds fly, fish swim, Michael Atkinson molests dogs, and Bioware games have good writing”. So not only are you getting a chance to avoid the terrible people that infest MMO multiplayer you are also getting a quality triple A story.

In summary I have to say that adding such quality single player content was a great idea for E.A. and Bioware. It has kept bringing me back for more hours of really enjoyable game play.
